For some odd reason, summer vacation has seemed to come to an end so much earlier this year. I go back tomorrow for four days of in-services and frenzied attempts to move into my new classroom. The kids and the husband don’t go back until the 11th, so they have two more weeks. But I don’t. So we tried to make the most out of our last day.
First, Marie had to go see her ophthalmologist. She had surgery back in March to correct a lazy eye, and this was her follow-up. She needs to patch for a couple of hours a day, and we found a cute patch for her – of course since it had a unicorn on it, she was happy to wear it. She’s not really into unicorns, but she LOVES horses.

We ended up arriving early at the doctor’s office, so we goofed around a bit in the yard. The kids were going to get haircuts later in the day, so this was their last chance for “hairy pictures.”

Gracie was cranky, but she was willing to sit still for one photo.

And here Adam is after his haircut, Marie still hadn’t had hers yet. But you can see how she’s growing so tall!

So now we’re ready for the new school year – new backpacks and supplies, new haircuts, all doctor and dentist needs have been taken care of…let’s hope 2008-09 is a good year!
